System Behavior Preferences - Security

The Security tab of the System Behavior Preferences window allows you to enable and disable security functions.

• First, click on the ADMIN icon   on the top right corner of the POS screen. 
• Click the TOOLS button on the top LEFT side of the IRIS Administrator screen. 

• Select, SYSTEM SETUP from the tools drop down menu.

• Click ADVANCED on the LEFT side of the system set up screen.
• Select, SYSTEM BEHAVIOR PREFERENCES from the advanced page menu.

• Click on the SECURITY tab.
• You can choose to check (turn on) or uncheck (turn off) the listed security functions.
  1. Automatically Log Out After 20 Minutes (when this is checked, IRIS will log out after 20 minutes of inactivity)
  2. Hide Credit Card Number When Taking Payments (when this is checked, when typing in a credit card number in the payment details window, the number will turn to ***)
• When all desired functions have been checked, click the SAVE button in the bottom RIGHT corner.
